Us
My name is Bill. I’m a guitaraholic. Electric guitars have been
a big part of my life since 1961. I still have my first electric guitar,
a ‘58 Les Paul Jr. It has been with me longer than any of my other
material possessions. I played in numerous bands as a young man. After
suddenly developing a terminal case of the dreaded “ uncuteness”,
I became an agent for many top bands in the Washington, DC area. After
a couple years of professional haggling, I became manager for several
successful touring rock bands. During those wild and wonderful 70s and
80s, my guitar playing suffered miserably. When you’re around several
guys that can play rings around you, one tends to develop and maintain
a severe inferiority complex. Do the names Danny Gatton, Steuart Smith,
Paul Reed Smith, George Thorogood and Jimmy Thackery mean anything to
you? They do to me. They’re those guys. I got out of the music biz
in the mid 80s. As a result, my playing got better. But, it never left
my house.
In 2004, I spent a fabulous month working for the First World Guitar Congress
at Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland. Among the many participants
that I had the pleasure to meet and work with included Andy Summers, Albert
Lee, Eric Johnson, Johnny Hiland, Marty Friedman, Derek Trucks, Jim Weider,
Allan Holdsworth, John Scofield, Jim Hall, Dick Dale, Jennifer Batten,
and the man himself, the great Les Paul. That project was simply amazing.
Then withdrawal set in. Hence this website. I’m proud to be part
of a community that I believe has made the world a better place. There
is a great history and legacy that belongs to the electric guitar. It
is a true American icon and its influence on world pop culture is huge.
If you don’t believe me, stick around. You will learn something.
For those of you who know what I’m talking about, enjoy! I will
make every effort to provide you with a place to hang out and actually
feel good about your incurable case of sixstringitis. We understand what
you are going through. My crew and I are electric guitar nuts. We play,
collect, live, and breathe electric guitars.
We are now open for business . Take a look around.
