Guitar Legends-The Beatles

The Beatles’ reputation in pop music history is secure. They are the group by which every other band is measured. Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and George Harrison dominated the pop music world with their brilliant song writing and great vocals. Not as obvious to most listeners is their pioneering work with electric guitars.

The End

The Beatles introduced the world to Vox guitar amplifiers, Leslie tone cabinets, Gretsch guitars, Rickenbacker guitars, and the Hofner “Beatle” bass guitar. After The Beatles U.S. debut on “The Ed Sullivan Show” on February 9, 1964 before a television audience of 75 million viewers- it was said that a million new bands were launched the very next day. Soon thereafter George Harrison lamented that it was too bad that the Beatles didn’t have stock in some of those guitar companies.
